They are not protected because people use them for greed. Posted by  loboinok @ 3:16 PM, March 21, 2005   I am by no way an activist either, but I have been around greyhounds in the afterlife (post racing) and they are absolutely adorable. Best pups. To the defense of the breeders, they do take care of the guys they race, but if one starts under performing, they are sent to pasture. That part definitely sucks. The greed part is pathetic.
